Education has the power to change lives. It creates opportunities, builds confidence and helps people unlock their potential. At SecuriGroup, we believe learning should never stop, which is why investing in the development of our people remains central to everything we do.
As we celebrate International Day of Education, we're taking the opportunity to reflect on the role education plays across our business, from helping colleagues gain new skills and qualifications to creating career pathways that support long-term growth and success.
A Culture of Continuous Learning
Through SecuriGroup Academy, we provide our colleagues with access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities designed to help them succeed in their current roles while preparing for future career progression.
Over the past year alone, more than 3,300 delegates have taken part in training and development programmes across the business. Colleagues have accessed over 106,000 online learning modules and completed more than 42,000 courses through our learning management system, covering subjects ranging from compliance and technical skills to leadership development and personal growth.
With more than 180 courses available through the Academy and opportunities spanning apprenticeships through to PhD-level study, we are committed to ensuring our people have the knowledge, skills and support needed to reach their full potential.
A Real Example of Career Development
One colleague who embodies the value of continuous learning is Specialist Service Lead, Brian McLaughlin.
Recently, Brian completed specialist training with Intelligencia Training, the UK's most experienced provider of vocational intelligence training. The programme covered Intelligence Theory, Applied Intelligence Analysis and the Communication of Intelligence Products, providing an opportunity to refresh existing knowledge, develop new skills and further enhance the expertise he brings to our Intelligence Department.
Brian's journey is a great example of how learning and development can support career progression. Having joined SecuriGroup several years ago as a Door Supervisor, he has successfully developed his career within the business and now plays a key role within our intelligence function.
His progression demonstrates our commitment not only to attracting talented people but also to developing and retaining them by creating opportunities to learn, grow and advance.
Creating Opportunities Beyond SecuriGroup
Our commitment to education extends beyond our own workforce.
Through our partnership with MCR Pathways, we support young people from challenging backgrounds by providing mentoring, career guidance and opportunities to learn more about the security industry. Through Talent Taster Sessions and workplace engagement activities, young people gain valuable insights into potential career paths while developing confidence and employability skills.
By working with organisations such as MCR Pathways, we hope to inspire the next generation of talent and demonstrate that the security industry offers a diverse range of rewarding and fulfilling careers.
Building Stronger Futures
Education is about far more than qualifications. It is about empowering individuals, creating opportunities and helping people achieve their ambitions.
Whether it's supporting a colleague to gain a professional qualification, helping someone take their first step into a new career, or providing ongoing learning opportunities through SecuriGroup Academy, we remain committed to investing in people and helping them succeed.
On International Day of Education, we celebrate everyone who is learning, developing and growing. Their dedication not only strengthens their own futures but also helps us build stronger teams, better services and a more resilient business for the future.
Congratulations to Brian on his recent achievement and thank you to all our colleagues who continue to embrace learning and development every day.
