SecuriGroup
has announced a new partnership with the
Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM), focused on professional development, strengthening capability and sharing best practice.
Over the next 12 months, the two organisations will work together, combining SecuriGroup’s experience across security, risk and operational delivery with ISRM’s global network and expertise in strategic risk and crisis management.
Developing our people
Creating clear routes for progression is particularly important in the security industry.
Research from the Security Industry Authority has identified a lack of career pathways and progression opportunities as a barrier to recruiting and retaining security officers. Clearer pathways can help people see how they can develop within the industry.
SecuriGroup has long invested in helping its people build their skills and progress their careers. Through
SecuriGroup Academy teams have access to nationally accredited qualifications, apprenticeships, classroom and on-the-job training, and ongoing e-learning.
The partnership with ISRM extends this further, giving SecuriGroup employees access to specialist learning, accredited professional development and insight from an international network of risk professionals.
Investing in professional development also strengthens the service SecuriGroup provides to clients. As risks and operating environments change, ongoing learning helps teams stay prepared, make better decisions and respond confidently to new challenges.
Alan Gibson, Head of Learning and Development at SecuriGroup, said:
“Developing our people has always been a priority at SecuriGroup. Through our SecuriGroup Academy, we’ve created a strong foundation for people to develop their skills, knowledge and careers.
“Working with ISRM opens up further opportunities for our teams to learn from different experiences and perspectives. That learning benefits not only our people, but the clients we support every day. We’re looking forward to sharing our own experience too, and bringing new ideas and insight back into the work we do.”
Sharing knowledge across the industry
Beyond professional development, the partnership will create opportunities for both organisations to share best practice, contribute to industry discussions and build relationships across ISRM’s wider professional network.
Dr David Rubens, Executive Director of ISRM, said:
“The ISRM has always been built on strong working relationships with some of the world's leading organisations. These are organisations that understand the environment they are operating in, the range of services that they are offering, but, most significantly, the critical importance of investing in their people at every level of the operation.
"We have worked with SecuriGroup for a number of years, and I have always been impressed by the seriousness with which they have approached the issues of supporting and encouraging every one of their team members to think of what they do as career-building opportunities rather than just a low-level security role.
"I am delighted that they are now formally recognising this by joining us as a Gold Corporate Partner.
I am confident that this partnership will bring them multiple benefits in achieving their strategic objectives in the coming years, and I am very much looking forward to seeing what we can do together”.
