Claiming Tax Back for Your SIA Licence
October 11, 2018

Did you know that you can claim tax back if you paid for your SIA licence?

If you pay your own licence fee, you will be able to claim tax relief against your taxable income - for example, if you pay the basic rate of tax, the relief is currently worth £44.

For specific roles, some people may need more than one licence; in such cases the second licence will also be discounted by 50%

Please click here to visit the HMRC website for more information and to apply for tax relief.

If you pay via a loan installment, you can still claim tax back. The loan deductions themselves are not taxable, but the total licence fee is.
