At SecuriGroup, we know that looking after mental health starts with something simple: a conversation.
As part of the Mental Health Foundation's Tea & Talk campaign, colleagues from across the business visited teams at client sites to spend time with frontline colleagues, share a tea or coffee, and create space for open and honest conversations.
The initiative was a reminder that sometimes the smallest interactions can make the biggest difference. Whether discussing work, wellbeing, personal challenges or simply catching up, taking the time to listen and connect helps build stronger, more supportive workplaces.
Creating Space for Conversation
For many people, discussing mental health can feel difficult. Busy schedules, remote working and the demands of daily life can make it easy to put wellbeing on the back burner.
Tea & Talk encourages people to pause, check in with one another and have meaningful conversations in a relaxed and informal setting. Across our client sites, managers and colleagues took the opportunity to connect with teams, listen to experiences and reinforce the message that support is always available.
These conversations don't need to be complicated. Often, simply asking someone how they are doing and taking the time to listen can help them feel supported and valued.
Supporting Wellbeing All Year Round
While campaigns such as Tea & Talk play an important role in raising awareness, our commitment to colleague wellbeing extends throughout the year.
We are proud to work alongside a number of wellbeing partners who provide specialist resources, support and guidance for our teams, including:
Able Futures
Able Futures offers confidential support and guidance for employees experiencing challenges with their mental health, helping individuals stay in work while managing their wellbeing.
Mindful Employer
Through our partnership with Mindful Employer, we continue to promote positive mental health practices and create a workplace culture where colleagues feel comfortable seeking support when they need it.
Security Minds Matter
As a charity dedicated to improving mental health within the security industry, Security Minds Matter provides valuable resources and assistance tailored to the unique challenges faced by security professionals.
Perkbox
Our colleagues also have access to wellbeing resources and support through Perkbox, helping them prioritise both their physical and mental wellbeing.
Stronger Together
Creating a culture where people feel supported is not something that happens on a single day. It is built through everyday actions, genuine conversations and a willingness to look out for one another.
Tea & Talk provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and reinforce the importance of mental wellbeing across our business. It also served as a reminder that support comes in many forms, whether through professional services, workplace initiatives or simply taking the time to listen.
Keeping the Conversation Going
Mental health is something we should talk about every day, not just during awareness campaigns.
By continuing to encourage open conversations, challenge stigma and provide access to meaningful support, we can help ensure that every colleague feels valued, heard and supported.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Tea & Talk and helped make these conversations possible. Together, we can continue building a workplace where wellbeing matters and where no one feels they have to face challenges alone.
