David's recent promotion is testament to his passion for education and his commitment to social mobility. David exemplifies our core purpose of Strengthening Society by bettering lives and through his outstanding leadership.

The only Chartered Teacher in the Private Security Industry, David leads SecuriGroup Academy's expert team of trainers and assessors.

Under David's direction, the Academy became the first training provider within the private security sector to become a Corporate Partner with the Society for Education and Training and is approved to deliver qualifications and apprenticeships up to Level 5 on the RQF framework.

The Academy is now the only training provider in the UK to have successfully delivered a first-of-its-kind 12-month Providing Security Services Apprenticeship, transforming the lives of many and attracting new talent to both SecuriGroup and the wider security industry.

David has developed a Career Development Pathway, Emerging Leader Pathway and Management Development Pathway to provide opportunities for professional development from Novice to Subject Matter Expert.

David is the Co-Chair of the Security Institute's Special Interest Group for 'Security, Education, Accreditation, Training and Standards (SEATS) committee and was appointed as a Subject Matter Expert for Security Training by Highfield, one of the UK's largest awarding organisations. He has an MA in Education, Extremism and Cohesion (Distinction) and a BA (Hons) in Education (First Class) and a Certificate in Education. He holds teaching statuses in CTeach, ATS and QTLS, alongside the following professional memberships: FSET, F.ISRM, MSyl, and TechIOSH.

David is currently embarking on an Advanced Diploma in Counter Terrorism Risk Management at Cumbria University.

In recognition of his commitment to education and training, David has been awarded a place on the Education and Training Foundation's 'Senior Leader Programme'. He hopes to commence a Doctorate in Education at the University of Huddersfield in September 2024, focussing on the impact of Counter Terrorism legislation on training within the Private Security Industry.
