We are celebrating the addition of four new Modern Apprentices to key departments across SecuriGroup.
A proud supporter of the Modern Apprenticeship program, SecuriGroup understands the value of investing in bringing young professionals, graduates and new skills into the security industry.
Modern Apprenticeships are an excellent pathway for young people to gain an industry-recognised qualification and the practical workplace skills required to succeed in a professional environment.
SecuriGroup Systems - Jay Greig
Joining our Systems department on a three year Modern Apprenticeship is Jay Greig. He is our new Electronic Fire & Security apprentice.
Working under Technical Director David Waddell, Jay will gain a valuable first-hand perspective of working on prestigious sites, alongside experienced industry specialists, in a department undergoing rapid growth.
Through the accrediting body of New College Lanarkshire, Jay has joined on a programme which divides his time between learning with SecuriGroup for most of the week and one day of classroom-based learning.
On completion of the three years, Jay will gain a Personal Development Award (PDA) in Electronic Fire & Security and Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ).
SecuriGroup IT – Emily McGeachy
The latest Modern Apprenticeship to join the IT department is Emily McGeachy.
Emily comes from a background in Graphic Design and the Adobe creative suite and has focused on developing her skills through online tutorials and self-instruction.
Looking for an opportunity to move into an IT role, Emily discovered the SecuriGroup Apprenticeship through Skills Development Scotland and is excited by the prospect of continuing her development as part of a growing department at the heart of a £40m organisation.
Another excellent addition to the organisation, we are delighted to welcome Emily to SecuriGroup.
SecuriGroup IT - Conan Gontarek
One of two new recruits for the IT department, Conan is with SecuriGroup as part of a Modern Apprenticeship.
Following in the footsteps of his family into the world of IT seemed inevitable in Conan's case who from a young age has been building computers.
Having completed two years of a degree in Physics, Conan decided he wanted to take a more hands-on approach to his development.
After some time gaining work experience, Conan applied to take on a Modern Apprenticeship with the company – we are delighted that he is now chose to become a SecuriGroup colleague and further develop his skills within the organisation.
Blueprint Training - Damian Trella
Based in our training department, Blueprint Training, Damian Trella has joined us on a Modern Apprenticeship.
Damian, who turns 18 in September, was born in Poland and moved to Scotland when he was 6 years old.
Until very recently, he played football for Clyde FC and at times worked under the directive of Barry Ferguson.
