SecuriGroup was proud to be invited to present last week to our clients, Bupa and CBRE, and separately to the British Security Industry Association.
Bupa and CBRE: A best in class partnership
We are privileged, through CBRE, to be delivering guarding services to Bupa. Part of our added value offering to clients is the ability to provide expert insight into security issues, and work with them to enhance safety and security.
We were delighted when Bupa supplied us with a training and awareness agenda which played to those strengths, and we delivered a series of presentations at a briefing session to their managers in London on 13th June 2018.
Baroness Ruth Henig, SecuriGroup Chair and a former chair of the Security Industry Authority, briefed our clients on the benefits of the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme and security regulation in the UK, including its history, achievements, challenges and its future.
National Operations manager, Biagio Paciolla, covered a wide range of practical security issues ranging from access control to perimeter security, encompassing areas particularly relevant to building managers.
Finally, SecuriGroup Operations Director, Allan Burnett QPM FSyI gave a briefing on counter-terrorism, drawing on his considerable experience as the former counter-terrorism coordinator for Scotland.
Our hosts made it a very interactive session, and a follow-up is planned for early July in Salford, promoting joined-up working to further enhance security and safety across the Bupa estate.
On Thursday 14 June 2018, Allan Burnett our Operations Director had the privilege of briefing a meeting of the BSIA Security Guarding Section on Operations Servator in London.
As a former chief police officer of 30 years, Allan highlighted the merits and challenges of Servator which is designed to deliver 'unpredictable, highly visible police deployments and created to DETER, DETECT, and DISRUPT a wide range of criminal activity.'
It has been used by a large number of police forces across the UK to target issues including terrorism, gun and knife crime, violence and disorder.
Amongst other things, Allan focused on the support that the private security industry could give Servator, urging BSIA members to proactively support Servator operations.
