With thousands of revellers descending on Liverpool for Chinese New Year celebrations throughout January and February, SecuriGroup ensured the safety of all persons attending the Chinese New Year festival organised by Liverpool City Council and Culture Liverpool on the weekend of the 27th of January 2017.
As a deeply spiritual and sacred event, marking the first day of the Chinese lunar calendar, it was important that our service delivery allowed all visitors to appropriately reflect and celebrate the start of the Year of the Rooster in a safe and secure environment.
Through the provision of expert crowd management services, SecuriGroup guaranteed a safe and memorable experience for all people attending to celebrate the Year of the Rooster. By ensuring crowd flow and dynamics remained positive, the carnival atmosphere reverberated throughout the Chinatown markets, organised displays, projections, and performances.
SecuriGroup's relationship with Liverpool City Council has gone from strength to strength in the last few years, with the Company being selected through competitive tender processes to provide staff to a range of prestigious events including the Mersey River Festival, the 3 Queens Event, Pentecost, and the past two years of the Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF). The Company's experience in the city, combined with local staff with local knowledge, made SecuriGroup a perfect fit to secure the Chinese New Year festivities.
With shops and restaurants on the parade route remaining open during the event, SecuriGroup was tasked with not only ensuring the safety of all visitors, but making sure that businesses did not lose customers by ushering individuals through the crowded streets to reach their destination. SecuriGroup staff manned road closures, supervised the parade and the funfair, and ensured a great and safe day was had by all who turned out to watch the Firecracker Display and the projections.
All staff had a wonderful time working at the fun-filled event, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Liverpool City Council and the people of Liverpool as 2017 progresses.
