For over a decade, SecuriGroup has been delivering an array of security and safety services to Celtic Football Club. During that time, we have secured the safety of all involved with the Club during what has been one of the most successful periods in Celtic’s history, with the Scottish giants lifting 14 major domestic honours and making their mark on the European stage.
Celtic Football Club Case Study
Celtic was founded in 1887, playing their first match in May 1888 which ended in a 5-2 victory. Established as an institution whose sole purpose was to alleviate poverty in the East End of Glasgow through football, Celtic have become an internationally famed football club, rising to become the first British Club to lift the European Cup in 1967.
The safety of all spectators, players and Club officials is ensured by our provision of exceptional crowd management and pitch response stewards, with our security hosting approach also expertly applied across our deployment of SIA-licensed personnel to hospitality and corporate suites across the stadium. By efficiently managing and processing the safe ingress and egress of all supporters’ buses at the Club’s coach park, we nullify disruption to each fan’s journey to and from the 60,000 seater stadium.
SecuriGroup is trusted to deliver security requirements, and their investment in staff training is evident by the quality of their people. In addition, SecuriGroup also provides our in-house stewarding staff with training on safety and security topics. SecuriGroup is led by a highly respected and professional management team and I have no hesitation in recommending the services provided by them.
- Ronnie Hawthorn, Head of Safety, Security & Operations, Celtic FC
Upon award of contract, SecuriGroup actively established key relationships with Celtic representatives, police officials, match commanders and associated authorities to ensure our operations encompassed the visions of all partners charged with the safety of all persons using the Club’s facilities in and around the stadium.
Celtic Park is an iconic place to watch and play football, and it will always be our duty to ensure that the match day experience remains both exciting and safe for all spectators. Now, with a 2,900-capacity safe standing section – the first fan space of its kind in modern British football – Celtic Park has further enhanced its position as a secure and eminent football arena as a result of its trusted and robust security systems.
