In August, after overcoming stern opposition in the qualifying rounds, Celtic FC reached the UEFA Champions League group stages for the first time since 2013. Celtic, a prestigious client of SecuriGroup's for over a decade, are back amongst Europe's elite having regained access to one of the world's most illustrious sporting tournaments.
Since 2005, SecuriGroup has supported Celtic through five UEFA Champions League campaigns and we are delighted to be delivering our award-winning stewarding services on the world stage once more. Drawn into Group C alongside internationally renowned opposition such as FC Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Mönchengladbach, Champions League nights returned to Celtic Park with the visit of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and German powerhouses Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Both fixtures were played out in front of a sold-out Celtic Park, requiring robust and informed security services to manage the safety of over 60,000 spectators, as well as all players and Club officials.
Through the deployment of crowd management stewards and exceptional SIA-licensed personnel, we continue to ensure that all supporters in the stands and at corporate suites throughout the stadium enjoy a positive and memorable match day experience. By also providing traffic management operatives, we have efficiently processed the safe ingress and egress of all supporters' buses at the Club's coach park, guaranteeing no disruption to each fan's journey to and from the stadium.
Now, after four games played, Celtic's European fate looks set to be decided on 23rd November in a crunch tie against FC Barcelona. The meetings of these two sides is always a special one and Celtic will be hoping for a repeat of their 125th birthday celebrations in 2012 which saw them triumph to victory over the five-time Champions League winners.
SecuriGroup is looking forward to showcasing our award-winning stewarding and traffic management services on what promises to be another memorable night of European football at Celtic Park.
