Scotland Crimestoppers annouces new Chairman

The independent charity Crimestoppers have announced the appointment of a new Chairman for Scotland Crimestoppers.





John LS Malcolm QPM, is Chairman of Securigroup, Scotland’s largest security company. He is a former ACC Crime of Strathclyde Police having spent 36 years in policing.
A former secretary to ACPOS Crime Committee, Mr. Malcolm brings a wealth of knowledge of the impact of crime on victims across Scotland.

In 2009 Mr. Malcolm was awarded the Queens Police Medal for distinguished police service. Speaking of his appointment, Mr. Malcolm said, “I am honoured and excited to be involved with Crimestoppers, the only charity involved in combating crime. Crimestoppers is staffed by volunteers and stands apart from the police and government. A true example of community working!”

New local committees

Mr. Malcolm’s appointment comes at a time of development across Scotland for Crimestoppers. New local committees are being introduced in Dumfries and Galloway, Strathclyde and Lothian and Borders. These new committees will reinforce the good work in other areas of Scotland.

Invaluable experience
